What is ‘The Skinny on Sports’?

Filed under: — The Skinny @ 4:58 pm

Building on the recent success of blogging comes Podcasting - a way of delivering audio from a variety of different sources to your iPod or similar audio device. Using programs such as iPodder listeners can subscribe to Podcasts and updates are downloaded at user specified intervals.

When checking out the iPodder.org directory, we noticed that there were no Podcasts targeting the sports audience. (There are some for specific sports, but not sports in general.) With that, The Skinny on Sports was born.

The Skinny on Sports is a Podcast that is approximately 10 minutes in length that looks at some of the key issues in the sports world at the given time. Given the short time, the show moves quickly and aims to provide and promote discussion on the latest issues at hand.

We chose the name ‘The Skinny on Sports’ for a few reasons:

1. Our last name is ‘Skinn’ so it’s a play on words.
2. By saying ‘The Skinny’, we mean ‘The Scoop’.
3. We aim to keep to the show at 10 minutes in length meaning that both the time involved to listen to the show and the size of the MP3 files are ‘Skinny’.

We hope you enjoy the Podcasts and welcome any suggestions or feedback you have from the show. Email us at theskinnyonsports@hoydnewsnetwork.com and we’ll try and get back to you soon and use some of your ideas in future editions of the show.

Subscribe to our Podcast here.

Hope you enjoy!
