Podcast Setup
We wanted to post this page to help others getting into Podcasting figure out what they need. Keep in mind that this is only what we use and there are many variations out there.
Software: Audacity
Sound Card: Soundblaster Live 5.1 with Live Drive
Microphones: Labtec headsets (into Mic-In on Live Drive)
After recording, we output the file as a 64 kbps MP3, upload the file to our server via FTP, and then use WordPress as our blogging software. (We are using a nightly release - 1.3-alpha4 which now handles enclosures automatically.)
Other Notes: We use a mini-jack splitter to allow for both headsets to go into the same Line-in which also makes for easier recording within Audacity. Of course, the downside to this is that both of our voices are on the same track which means that editing could be a bit more difficult. We don’t tend to do too much post-production editing though so this works great for us.
Special thanks to Ben from UpTheTree.com who let us use the download to iPod graphic from his site.

I’m considering doing a podcast, and may I say you have the slickest looking site I’ve seen yet - with the flash player embedded.
I’m looking for some help. How did you setup the flash player? It’s very slick in it’s look.
Thanks,
Chris Vaughn

Glad you like the site.
The player we used is based on code from the Webjay site at http://www.webjay.org - to make it easy though, feel free to look at the source for our page and just copy the code. All you’d probably need to change is the RSS feed location (and you have to do it with the url escaped - see ours for example) and you can change the width of the player if you want as well.
Hope that helps.

I am also a podcaster. Are you interested in hiring additional podcasters for your site?
